Education and Advocacy

Community education and advocacy are important to insuring that adequate resources and programs are available to all young children and their families. CCR&R staff are leaders in southern Illinois when it comes to educating the public about the child care needs of working families and the educational needs of their children. In addition to information on trends and current legislation, CCR&R provides useful resources and tools to empower parents, providers, and community members to be effective advocates for young children. In order to maximize public understanding of policy decisions on direct services, CCRR also sponsors policy forums, prepares and disseminates fact sheets and reports and provides opportunities for community members to connect with their elected official.

John A Logan CCR&R  partners with statewide advocacy organizations, such as  Illinois Action for Children, and Ounce of Prevention,  dedicated to working to advance legislative and administrative policies that support families, children, and early care and education at the state and national levels.

CCR&R encourages southern Illinois citizens to connect with Illinois Action for Children and receive up to date information about key issues affecting children and families.
